Bettina Rheims is a French photographer. The provocative erotic stagings in her nude and glamorous photography made her famous worldwide. Rheims began taking photographs in 1970. Her first models were Paris strippers and acrobats. Since then, the theme of the female body in erotic and voyeuristic situations has permeated her entire oeuvre.
Bettina Rheims (*1952, Neuilly-sur-Seine) lives and works in Paris. She has published numerous artist books and shown her work in numerous international solo and group shows, including at the NRW-Forum, the Deutschen Historischen Museum and the KunstHaus Wien.
