Justine Otto
Justine Otto's painting is characterised by constant change. The pictures are the result of a continuous engagement with her environment and an ongoing exploration of painterly gestures. Large-format, quickly executed paintings have replaced earlier, detailed figurative works – yet the subtle movements of times past remain palpable in her works. Justine Otto brings her concerns to the canvas with luminosity, depth and dimension, reinventing her visual language in each work.
Justine Otto (*1974, Zabrze, Poland) studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main between 1996 and with Angermann and Krebber. Otto lives and works in Hamburg and Frankfurt.
