Katharina Sieverding
Katharina Sieverding (*1944, Prag) is an internationally renowned photographer, whose works have been expanding an artistic notion of photography ever since she finished her studies as a master-class student of Joseph Beuys. She was among the first artists to use large formats in exhibiting photography, turning the image into an object. Her works reflect on her own identity as a female artist as well as on the socio-political conditions which shape our everyday lives.
Sieverding holds a professorship at the University of the Arts, Berlin.
