Karin Kneffel (*1957, Marl) questions the trivial and the common in her illusionist paintings. Bourgeois interiors are decorated with fruits or animals and staged in a way which makes the viewer doubt his or her perception of reality. Kneffel is a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
